Crime of the Week
February 18, 2010

Hays County Crime Stoppers is assisting the San Marcos Police Department in solving the following Robbery.

Another in a string of Robberies along the IH 35 corridor between San Antonio and Austin occurred on Saturday, February 6th, 2010 at approximately7:00pm, at the Days Inn, 1005 N. IH35, in San Marcos. The motel clerk advised police that a black male entered the motel, walked behind the counter and ordered the clerk to give him “all the money.”  The suspect acted like he had a gun in his waistband but never actually displayed it.  The suspect took the money from the cash register and then ordered the clerk to open the safe.  At that moment, a second male entered the motel and yelled "Let's go Dog!”  The suspects did not wait for the clerk to open the safe and ran out of the motel with approximately $2,000.00 in various denominations.

The first suspect was described as a Black male in his mid 20's, no older then 30, medium build, “cornrow” hairstyle, wearing a grey shirt and sunglasses.  There were no tattoos or facial hair, although the clerk remarked the subject’s hair looked properly braided, like the hairstyle had been done recently.

The second suspect was described as a short, heavyset Hispanic male, weighing between 220-240 pounds, in his mid 20's and was wearing an orange shirt, sunglasses and possibly wearing a hat.  He did not speak with a Spanish accent (native English).

The clerk did observe some type of truck, unknown make, color or model, pull up next to the motel just before the black male suspect walked in.  The motel does not have any video surveillance.  San Marcos Police investigators have no other leads or evidence in this case and need your help to identify these robbers and solve this Robbery.
